We’re delighted to spill just a few of the beans on our latest project: South Place Hotel.
South Place is D&D London’s first hotel. Perhaps unsurprisingly given their pedigree in restaurants, South Place will be “as much about meet and eat as sleep”, to quote General Manager Bruce Robertson. It will feature two restaurants and three bars, as well as its 80 stylish guest rooms.
Angler, a British seafood restaurant run by Tony Fleming (formerly of One Aldwych) will occupy the seventh floor, with stunning views of the City from its rooftop terrace. 3 South Place, on the ground floor, will be a more relaxed affair.
South Place will be a member of the Design Hotels group, a network of 200 independent hotels featuring “thought-provoking design and groundbreaking architecture”.
The hotel owners and developers are Frogmore, who have worked closely with D&D and the design team on the project development and execution. The hotel is sandwiched between the gleaming offices of the City and the urban grit of the East End, and takes its design cues from both. Conran and Partners and Conran Studio have been hard at work on the hotel’s interior and branding, while Allies and Morrison have designed the bespoke building.
We’ll have much more to say about South Place soon.
