Conran: Something for a London weekend: The Old and The New

At ninety-four years of age the Danish-born American designer Jens Risom shows no signs of slowing down. This week a new exhibition of his furniture opens at Rocket Gallery on London’s Shoreditch High Street.

We are particularly interested as Terence’s Benchmark Furniture have, in partnership with Rocket, secured the European rights to reissue Risom’s 1950s and 1960s furniture designs and the first collection of nine pieces is being shown here.

The collection has been creatively directed by Jonathan Stephenson of Rocket and made by Sean Sutcliffe and Terence Conran’s Benchmark Furniture in their Dorset and Berkshire workshops, with the close involvement of Risom himself.
